About Group Fitness

Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers. Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of Body Systems Fitness's staff members:

Bob Amic

Owner

Bob's strong drive to improve his own level of fitness propelled him to become a Certified Personal Trainer, as well as his desire to lead his family to a healthier lifestyle. After experiencing how this knowledge was able to benefit both he and his family, he wanted to share his passion with others by operating a truly first class health and fitness club.

Carrie Amic

Owner

Carrie, better known as Chip, is an active mother of four spectacular children, and as such, she understands how leading a healthy lifestyle can help to shape the lives of others. She is passionate about helping senior citizens improve the quality of their life through health and wellness. She oversees the Silver Sneakers fitness program offered here at Body Systems.

Melissa Gray

General Manager

Body Systems Fitness is a true family facility as Melissa is the daughter of Bob and Carrie. Through the years, she developed a love of fitness and now manages the club. She received her personal training certification so that she too can share her knowledge with others, and carry that on to her young sons.

Jessica Ruperto

Sales and Marketing Manager

Jess graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and is now a part of our marketing team. She is a new mother who is dedicated to providing a healthy life style for herself as well as her family. Jess is honored to be a part of Body Systems Fitness and is extremely excited to see what the future has in store for the gym as well as the community!

Tammy Rink

group fitness coordinator and instructor

Tammy started at Body Systems Fitness as an instructor and is now our Group Fitness Coordinator. She teaches Silversneakers Muscular Strength, Cardio Circuit and Yoga Stretch. She also teaches Zumba. She shares in our passion to see members become "fit for life". Her certifications include: Neta Group Fitness, Silversneakers, Zumba, and Yoga Stretch. Bill Isenberg

Trainer

Hello, my name is Bill Isenberg. I graduated from Robert Morris University in May of 2007 with degrees in Business Management and Sport Management. I am a soon to be a certified A.C.S.M Personal Trainer as well as Group Fitness Instructor. I am very passionate about fitness and feel it should become a part of everyone’s daily life. I encourage people to try out my new class on Monday mornings at 9:15 am, if you are up for something new! And remember “ Your born weak. You die weak. What you do in between, is up to you.”

Tracy Adams

Trainer

Train with Tracy Adams, Tracy is 32 years old, a proud wife and mother, and a competitive fitness athlete from Oakdale, PA. Tracy is a certified personal trainer and aerobics instructor. Tracy coaches bodybuilding and figure athletes and designs customized workouts for all levels of endurance and strength from novice to advanced. Jamey Bednez

Trainer

Jamey has been in the health and wellness field for the last 11 years. He holds degrees in Health and Physical education and Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology. Jamey has trained clients from all ends of the spectrum ranging from weight loss, bodybuilding and marathons. He holds certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine, Certified Health Education Specialist and the American Aerobics Association International - International Sports Medicine Association. He has developed a "lifestyle" type of philosophy towards improving upon ones health. He tackles his training with a comprehensive approach hitting on all areas of wellness ranging from motivation, lifestyle behavioral change, and self-efficacy. He has developed a high intensity results-based reputation and believes success comes to those who aren't afraid to fail. "It's not a secret that exercise and running is a way of my life. The fact is, there is a fat, lazy, out of shape, aging man chasing me, and if he catches me, he is me."

Mary Kay Cain

Instructor

Mary Kay Cain - Hatha Yoga Instructor - I have been instructing Hatha Yoga since September 1995. The practice of Hatha Yoga combines Asanas (poses) and Pranayama (deep breathing) that can help you recognize your hidden physical and mental potentials. Through the continued performance of Asanas you will gain flexibility and strength and learn to be more relaxed under otherwise stressful situation. I have been a fitness instructor since 1988 as a group fitness instructor at the Sewickley YMCA. I have also taught adult classes for Community College and have worked at other private clubs before coming to Body Systems in 2000.

Lauren Mednez

Instructor

Get Fit with Lauren! Lauren graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2006 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. She is an AFAA certified Group Exercise instructor and teaches various group exercise formats ranging from hi-lo, step, spin, body sculpting to boot camp. Lauren currently works in corporate wellness as a Fitness Specialist and is attaining her certification as a Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine. She has a strong passion for health & fitness-- Come and try out one of her classes! "Fitness is a Journey, not a Destination."

Kelly Tate

My name is Kelly Tate. I am a high school health and physical education teacher, CPR instructor, aerobics/spin instructor, and a proud mother of a beautiful little girl. I have taught aerobics and spin for over four years. I have a no quit attitude. You will definitely be put to the test in my class!

Monica Kessler

Instructor

Monica Kessler – Beginner Yoga, Gentle Yoga and Spin Instructor - I always firmly believed in the mental and physical benefits that exercise has on the body. I started exploring yoga about eight years and quickly became addicted! Set out to spread the word about the wonderful benefits of yoga, I continued to learn and develop my teaching skills by attending workshops with senior teachers. I have been teaching at Body System for the past 4 years and have loved every hour spent with our members, giving them the opportunity to relax and unwind while growing stronger inside and out! I also teach Spin to continue motivating and challenging our members. I use a great mix of music, motivation and enthusiastic coaching to lead our members through a ride that best suits their fitness level and goals. My students will sprint, run, climb, jump and have a blast while getting fit!

Tracy Rafail

Instructor

Tracy Rafail began teaching group fitness 4 years ago after realizing how much enjoyment she received by helping others achieve their fitness goals. She is an ACE certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. She currently teaches Cycle, Step, Sculpting, and Cardio Kickboxing. Tracy currently resides in Sewickley, PA and works as a Procurement Manager for DDI in Bridgeville, PA.

Heidi Hawthorne

My name is Heidi Hawthorne and I live in Imperial, PA with my boyfriend of 5 1/2 years now, Dennis. I work as a Health Coach with Coventry Health Care in Moon Township. I received my Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in Dec of 2006. I've been teaching exercise classes for 9 yrs. I previously worked at the YMCA , UPMC, and Highmark's Corporate Wellness Center as a personal trainer. I have taught youth weight training, lift and tone, and Powerball. I absolutely love lifting weights and teaching strength classes! I think women should not be intimidated by lifting weights because it does wonders for the body and revs up your metabolism! I teach Powerball - Mondays at 7:30.

Courtney Walter

I am a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. I graduated with a degree in the Biological Sciences, and have always had a passion for fitness and well-being. I have an extensive cheerleading background and will be teaching the cheer/dance camp this summer. I am also a certified Silver Sneakers Instructor. Hope to see you in class!

Cindy Petri

I have been teaching Zumba since July '08 and I'm hooked. Zumba is a different kind of cardio workout with a latin flare. Zumba is designed to be fun and addicting. I got certified teaching Zumba with Beto, the founder of Zumba. When I'm not teaching Zumba I work at Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort. It is a state of the art Pet Resort where we cater to all your pets needs. The Resort is also involved with rescuing animals who are in need of a home. So if you are looking for a fun workout come try my Zumba class. I promise you a party!

Gwen Bruno-Menzer

I’m just one of you! I am a single mother with a full time career. I work usually, six days a week with my pre teen son in sports that requires my involvement as his only parent. I have always known that exercise is important however, now I understand how VERY important exercise is to a person. I teach spin at 5:30 am Mondays and Thursdays. Staying fit is always challenging with a full schedule so I exercise to stay fit, energetic, and healthy! My classes are lots of fun and I have been told, very challenging. We have all age groups and different types of music to keep everyone happy. I would love for you to join me! See you in the AM.

Zumba

Fusion of Latin and International music- dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principals of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat-burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. Zumba creates a party like atmosphere and you don't need to know how to dance to do Zumba!
